Affirm Recovery is a system of support for people who have or are affected by mental health, unhealthy attachments to a substance, behavior, activity, or the negative effects of bias-- in ourselves or a loves one.
You don't have to struggle alone. There is nothing like RECOVERY, and you can have it.
Join us for an AFFIRM meeting via zoom each third Sunday at 7 pm-8:30 pm.
You can also contact us for some one-to-one, confidential and affirming recovery coaching from a certified specialist. Call or text us at (754) 777-0806 for details.
1. How much does it cost to attend an AFFIRM Recovery Meeting?
Meetings are free though your contribution is welcome.
2. What is Recovery?
The dictionary defines recovery as "the action or process of regaining possession or control of something stolen or lost." In the process of recovery, we are regaining health: mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical.
3. What is recovery from the negative effects of bias?
For African (descent) people, it is critical that we look at the whole 'ball of wax' and root out some of the generational pain that might be hiding underneath our unhealthy attachments. This is the only way we will heal.
4. Are these 12-step meetings?
No, but they are 7 Pillar meetings. We use these pillars to find wellness. Check them out below.
5. What ages are welcome?
People 18 and over. Need support with childcare so you can get to your recovery? Contact us.
6. Who is welcome?
Anyone who has been affected by their own or someone else's mental health, unhealthy attachment to a behavior, activity, substance or the effects of bias is welcome. Our focus is on the dynamics and needs of people of African descent.
